About

I am currently finishing my PhD dissertation, under the supervision of Prof. Rosina Moreno, at the University of Barcelona (Spain). My dissertation deals with the way in which knowledge diffuses between individuals, firms, and regions, and the specific role of space, inventors’ mobility, networks and spillovers. In the age of the knowledge-based economy, the transmission of knowledge is increasingly important for the creation of innovations, more and better knowledge, and subsequently growth and well-being. Understanding the specific mechanisms underlying this process is, therefore, pivotal. More specifically, my research focuses on the role played by highly-skilled knowledge workers, that is, inventors, and their networking and geographical mobility practices.
More recently, I joined the Economics and Statistics Division, at the World Intellectual Property Organization (Geneva), to study the international mobility of inventors, and its relationship with innovation, knowledge diffusion, intellectual property, and development.
