About

Álvaro Martínez is Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Sociology and Organisational Analysis (Universitat de Barcelona). He is PhD in Applied Social and Economic Research (ISER, University of Essex) and Doctor-Member of the Juan March Institute. He also holds a Master in Social Sciences (Juan March Institute), an Advanced Diploma in Political Science (UAM), and a BA in Political Science (UCM).

Previously to join the UB he has been visiting student at Nuffield College (University of Oxford) and the European University Institute. In addition, he has been Research Fellow at the Research Institute for the Evaluation of Public Policies (IRVAPP, Fondazione Bruno Kessler).

His research interests include family sociology, economics of the family, social stratification, electoral behaviour, life course analysis, econometric and quantitative methods for the analysis of large scale datasets.
